This was our favorite hotel during our stay In the UK. The staff made us feel at home and the hotel restaurant is fabulous, one of the best meals we ate during our trip. We will definitely be back again

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room looked recently refurbished, was large and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean. Location is perfect and wasn't too noisy even on a Bank Holiday weekend

The camping pod was really cosy and clean, much roomier and more comfortable than I expected. The pods are really well kitted out with kitchenware and home comforts, which is perfect for a solo traveller who can't carry too much with them. Lovely little coffee/tea hamper provided and the hob was really easy to use.
The pods are warm and well lit, with a great little decking area to sit out on into the evening.
Very comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of towels in the shower room and all the little extra things you might need have been thought of.
I would highly recommend the Scallows and would love to visit again myself one day.

So much history. Loved the buildings, the motte and bailey castle, the priory remains in the park, the independent shops and cafés. Everything is within walking distance. Great to have a railway station and Brighton only 9 miles away. Superb views and walks over the South Downs.

Interesting county town.
Interesting county town. A few things to do inside there (eg castle and priory, Depot cinema by the station). Or excellent transport links to coast (Seaford preferable to Newhaven unless you want to catch the ferry to Dieppe) and Brighton of course. The self contained area of Downs to the east are my favourite. Quieter than the main range of the Downs to the south so you can just roam around and enjoy the peace. Or you can walk along the river as far as Newhaven but this can be quite muddy when it's been raining. Beautiful flat walk though if you go when it's dry, or don't mind mud!

I lived near Lewes from 2000 to 2005 so know the area. Am fond of the Riverside area with its eating places, also the High Street. Perhaps not a huge amount going on, and perhaps the "Information Centre" could be
done up/revamped a little more, but the town is in an excellent central location for a holiday spent exploring locally.

Lewis is an old town full of interesting history, lots of old buildings and of course the castle that's always worth the walk up the hill, don't worry if you're not too fit as you can get a local bus to the top of the hill. Lots of wonderful pubs and cafes in the town centre along with some nice restaurants. The town is surrounded by stunning scenery all around.

I stay in Lewes frequently for visits to Glyndebourne.
I stay in Lewes frequently for visits to Glyndebourne. The local taxi firm (GMC Taxis) are very good and are prompt when picking up at the arranged time both to get to Glyndebourne and to return.
The town itself has much to offer with interesting shops and historic places including the Castle.
Hotel accommodation is very limited since the closure of The Shelleys and Pelham House. Parking is expensive

LEWES IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!
LEWES IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!
HOWEVER DO NOT STAY AT PREMIER INN !!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE A TOTAL JOKE AND NOTHING LESS THAN DAYLIGHT THIEVES WHO NEARLY DESTROYED MY WEDDING WITH 2 MISTAKES ON OUR BOOKINGS.
The Dorset on the other hand is a Lovely place to stay and would recommend it to anyone whishing to stay in Lewes.
Fantastic Lewes apartment. The place is warm and roomy, spacious, well appointed, very well located within Lewes and a short drive to Brighton. We were particularly happy with the addition of a separate dryer and washing machine. Apartment is a short walking distance to historic landmarks plus shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Our host Sara was very responsive and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The house is just a minute or two's walk to a bus stop to Lewes town center. A quality breakfast basket was supplied with muesli, croissants, preserves, tea and coffee with milk and bottled water. The lounge overlooks the patio garden, has a wood burning stove and a luxurious sofa. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering but we only stayed one night.
We loved walking everywhere around Lewes from The Dorset. The continental breakfast was good in a lovely room. And we also enjoyed the food we had in the evening at the pub. The room was spacious and comfortable. When we ran out of milk for tea, they gave us a little pitcher to take up to our room.
Self check-in and checkout is easy as is parking/finding the place. The room was well-appointed and comfortable. The hotel is well located for Brighton and Lewes. There was a small fan in the room which helped as it was very warm at night even when the temperature was coming down outside.
Lovely, quaint and cosy space. We loved our stay here and Simone has provided a beautiful space for a getaway. The 'best brownies' were very much appreciated and we ordered a cooked and continental breakfast which was all delicious and plentiful. Would happily stay again.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; catering to every need we had. The location was perfect; walking distance from the train station and a great spot for the Lewes bonfire procession. The room was clean and comfortable - lovely touch with the biscuits and tea/coffee.
Cheap dorm accommodation near Lewes for Lewes bonfire night. Short 3.5 mile cycle in. Opened early so we could book in and get into Lewes before all the roads were closed. Access to farmhouse to add boiling water to my oat pot and a cup of Rooibush.
A really great little studio with everyone that one could need! Located in a nice quiet area not far from Lewes and near to bus services. The facilities were good (I had everything I need for a self-contained holiday) and the owner is very decent.
Continental breakfast was adequate.
Staff very thin on the ground. I had almost finished before anyone turned up!
I was delighted with the very antiquated appearance of the Hotel. It was very different from the IBIS that I stayed in previously.
Great location in central Lewes with the bonus of a parking spot. Vicky is an excellent host and it was very easy to communicate with her. Very comfortable and spacious room with tasteful and modern decor. A real pleasure to stay here.
Comfortable and homely with a warm welcome from Linda and Sally. Delicious and generous breakfast, very clean spacious room, nice views, every effort made to make us feel at home. Thank you Linda and Sally!
perfectly proportioned! So delighted to have a cooking space whilst away. Loved the little touches such as the pictures on the wall in the bedroom (see attached).
